For over 25 years, James’ practice was devoted to the representation of entities and individuals involved in insurance coverage, legal malpractice, serious personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, business, construction defect, design professional, and environmental claims.

After serving as a full time mediator, discovery referee, and arbitrator in various civil disputes, James has returned to his litigation practice.

James has extensive trial experience, having tried over 50 cases to verdict before juries, as well as numerous bench trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings. He has also represented a party before the California Bar Court.

James is an author and lecturer for: Continuing Education of the Bar for the State of California, National Institute of Trial Advocacy, San Diego Inn of Court, American Inns of Court.

He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and an adjunct Professor of Law at University of San Diego School of Law.
